IAR-111 Romanian Supersonic – First Test Flight
The IAR-111 supersonic airplane cabin Excelsior was tested by the Romanian Association for Cosmonautics and Aeronautics (ARCA) in flight over the Black Sea.
On the 19th September ARCA announced that it has completed the aerodynamic simulations for the supersonic aircraft IAR-111, a device made to launch the space rocket Haas II for the Google Lunar X Prize competition. This will be also the first Romanian supersonic plane that will be used to develop technologies for space tourism.
