Passionate About Social Media?

IZEA is the next generation web-based company offering bloggers and advertisers tools and strategies necessary to build effective social media campaigns.
At the moment they own 2 great money making websites: SocialSpark and PayPerPost.

At SocialSpark you are offered a wide variety of social media marketing services, from blog posts, blog sponsorships and even product sampling while PayPerPost offers only paid reviews.
Blog sponsorships are my favorite. You get paid per day to advertise other blogs or rick roll your users which is kinda fun. I don't wanna say more about this ... but I know I made you curious.
Another great idea IZEA had are Sparks. Many of us don't have the funds necesarry to advertise on other blogs. By taking up a spark you will write about a blog on yours and then get a post back. It's fun and great for traffic.

These are 2 great opportunities to successfully monetize your website as a blogger or get exposure to your services or products as an advertiser.

IZEA's websites aim to empower everyone to value and exchange content, creativity & influence.

What are you waiting for ? I suggest you visit IZEA right now. They have a lot of great websites.

Wise Words From A Wise Man

If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction.

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.

It is in fact nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of instruction have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry; for what this delicate little plant needs more than anything, besides stimulation, is freedom. It is a very grave mistake to think that the enjoyment of seeing and searching can be promoted by means of coercion and a sense of duty.

True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.

The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Surf Chair Workstation

I don't know about you, but sitting in the same position all day is really a pain, literally. It's almost as if our backs have become accustomed to being in that one position, and are slowly evolving into a stiff curvature which keeps us in the seated position at all times.
And we can't stay in that position ALL of the time, no matter how nerdy we might be. Though there might be a solution to staying with your computer in a much more comfortable and lounge-like atmosphere. The Surf Chair looks like a total dream to use for gaming, or darn near any sort of long-term computer session.

Designed by Kenneth Lylover for the 'Internet Collection' competition at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair, the Surf Chair snagged the title for Winner of 'Best Product' at the event. And from just looking at the thing, you can tell it has earned its spot.
The Surf Chair mounts the monitor at an easily viewed height, though interestingly (and actually disappointingly) enough, doesn't include some sort of fold out table for the keyboard and mouse. The peripherals are kinda left hanging on your lap. Though for the name of design, this was probably left out for a reason.

Save energy with the help of Dirt Devil

How often do you clean your house ? And do you care about saving energy ? If yes here's something you might be interested in.
I'm not telling you to call the dog to lick up any food spilled on the kitchen floor, Dirt Devil has a better way to save energy. The new AccuCharge Stick Vac and Hand Vac use 70% less energy - making AccuCharge the first cordless cleaning technology to earn Energy Star approval.
What I really like about the AccuCharge Stick Vac is that it really is easy to use, cordless and of course it's design.
Speaking of design, the KURV is also a rechargeable, cordless hand held vacuum cleaner created with convenience in mind. You can use the KURV for daily upkeep and for crumbs and dust and spills that happen frequently.
If you happen a buy a vacuum from Dirt Devil you will get a 3 year warranty for it.

So you can easily clean your house everyday and save energy for your children, and for your children's children. And don't save energy just because you're using vacuums from Dirt Devil, start saving energy yourself by any means. Shutdown your computer when you're not using it ( nobody cares about your idle ), close all electrical appliances when not in use and so on.

Get exposure from the experts

How many of you started a business but got stuck even from the beginning ?
A lot of people wanted to give up because they had no customers. In our days, a lot of customers come from the internet. If you don't believe it then you probably should know that 71% of consumers start their Internet visit at a search engine!
Network Solutions offers pay per click advertising. Featuring 2 great plans they offer "sponsored listings" (PPC ads) that appear on the Google and Yahoo search networks when customers enter keywords relevant to your business.

They have 2 great plans. In case you want to start off really quickly then you should opt in for their Fully Managed Custom Plans that design custom landing pages for your website and put your ads even on Google Maps.
A lot of people need customers close to their business, but if your business is worldwide then you should opt in for the Pre-Packaged Starter Plans (doesn't offer phone advertising like the Fully Managed Custom Plan). Imagine that customers will call you. You know you want that, right ?
Anyway this is a great way to start getting busy with your business. Why don't you give it a shot ?

Never lose your pets again

A lot of us usually loose their pets sometimes. You know how sad you get until you find it.
I know that the last time I didn't manage to find one of my new born kitties I almost cried. And what do you know ? He was just sleeping in the garden right below some roses.
All of this could change easily by GPS Tracking your pets. This really is a great idea. Just imagine that you'd know where your pet is, how much he stays there. If you'd attach a video camera on him you'd see to. I wouldn't agree to this ... where would his privacy be at ?
BrickHouseSecurity has a lot of GPS devices you can get for your car, children and pets. What I really like is their GPS data logger. The advantage of a data logger is very detailed report at a low cost with no monthly fees. If you're at work, and you are really busy and you don't have to check your child or pet you can always take a break and see what he's been up to. Does your cat have a lover ?
Would you get a GPS device to track your pet ?

3D Led Cube

These look cool right ? Wait and see what they can do and of course what's gonna be made on the same principle.
Created by Chinese display manufacturer Seekway, this prototype 3D LED display cube was created using a 16x16x16 grid of interconnected color LEDs (that's a whopping 4096 individual diodes).
Each cube is capable of displaying animations at up to 30 frames per second and each dot can be individually addressed for both color and intensity.

Now that the prototype is complete, Seekway is gearing up to produce versions with grids as large as 48x48x48, which will require more than 110,000 LEDs.

The SmartPen from Livescribe

Have you ever had the need to take notes at a meeting or in class only to get hopelessly lost in the middle of the conversation? Afterwards, you question what you wrote and wonder if you got the details correct.
In some cases, the solution to this problem would be to record the entire meeting or class and play the audio back later. But what about when you only need certain parts of the conversation, or when you just can't bring a tape recorder along? The answer may very well be the Pulse smartpen from Livescribe.

This pen pairs with a special notebook to do things that you'd never expect a pen to do. When you're taking notes, you can set the pen to record what's being said as you write. When you're reviewing your notes, you can confirm that what you wrote is what was actually said.

The Pulse pen can also recognize images in the special notebook, such as an image of a calculator that is pre-printed in the front of the notebook. Just touch the pen to the numbers and it performs the functions of any regular calculator, with the answer being displayed on the small screen on the side of the pen.
What is perhaps the most impressive feature of the Pulse pen and its accompanying notebook is its search feature. You can upload the contents of the notebook to the included software, then view them on your computer exactly as they appear in the notebook. You can then search the notes for specific words, and the search will include not only the notes that you jot down -...

Mac vs. PC

It will never fall on it's side. Nobody dies on a Mac thanks to our innovative training iWeels. It will always have a steady speed and it doesn't let you customize it so you don't ruin it. All Macs are identical and all include the minimalistic, trendy design which makes up for the price. This price happens to be twice as much as it would cost if you built it yourself with the same exact parts. It can only travel on roads made for Macs (less than 1% of all roads), and can use only Mac-modified fuel, which is very expensive.
Nobody dies on a MAC

There are some choices for a PC. There are infinite posibilities. You can even create one with the same parts as a Mac. It's hard to drive, but if you learn to do it, you'll reach 230 km/h in a few seconds. Many people die because it's hard to handle. You can customize it any way you like. Most roads were made for it so it can drive on 98% of them. It uses whatever fuel you design it to use. Only people capable of driving transmission at fastass speeds with nothing to protect you from falling manage to see it's full potential, the rest die out by natural selection or quit and buy Macs or install Ubuntu.
Which one would you choose ?

MP100 Liquid Crystal On Silicon Projector

The MP100 from Honlai Technology uses liquid crystal on silicon micro-projection technology LCoS. It's similar to the way a DLP projector works, but it uses liquid crystals instead of individual mirrors. While the MP100 is small enough to sit in your hand, it can reportedly produce a projected image between 5 to 37 inches in size.
t uses a 5W LED as its lamp source giving it a brightness of about 10-15 lumens, and a contrast ratio of about 200:1. It also features a standard VGA input as well as a mini AV jack and composite video connections.

10 Tips for the Hard Working by George Costanza

Never walk down the hall without a document in your hands. People with documents in their hands look like hardworking employees heading for important meetings. People with nothing in their hands look like they're heading for the cafeteria. People with a newspaper in their hand look like they're heading for the toilet. Above all, make sure you carry loads of stuff home with you at night, thus generating the false impression that you work longer hours than you do.
Use computers to look busy. Any time you use a computer, it looks like work to the casual observer. You can send and receive personal e-mail, calculate your finances and generally have a blast without doing anything remotely related to work. These aren't exactly the societal benefits that the proponents of the computer revolution would like to talk about but they're not bad either. When you get caught by your boss -and you *will* get caught - your best defence is to claim you're teaching yourself to use new software, thus saving valuable training dollars.
Messy desk. Top management can get away with a clean desk. For the rest of us, it looks like you're not working hard enough. Build huge piles of documents around your workspace. To the observer, last year's work looks the same as today's work; it's volume that counts. Pile them high and wide. If you know somebody is coming to your cubicle, bury the document you'll need halfway down in an existing stack and rummage for it when he/she...

True Chinese Proverbs

Virginity like bubble, one prick, all gone.

Man who run in front of car get tired.

Man who run behind car get exhausted.

Man with hand in pocket feel cocky all day.

Foolish man give wife grand piano, wise man give wife upright organ.

Ready to move ? Need a truck rental ?

Most movers try to deliver each shipment on one truck. Sometimes, however, they underestimate the cubic feet of space required, and a second truck must be brought in to pick up the things left behind.
This situation is aptly called a leave behind, and clients are still only charged the cost of one truck.
If you don't want to deal with the expense of a moving company, you can easily rent a Penske moving truck from several different companies. By finding a good moving truck rental, you can transport your goods across the continental United States for a lower price than what most movers charge.

What I like about MovingOrbit.com is that you can get multiple estimates for local and interstate moving companies.
You can select the mover that gives you the best price and protection for your valuables.
And you're on your way!

USB Port Blocker

Data theft and introduction of viruses is a prime concern for mobile workers. The USB Port Blocker prevents data thieves from plugging in USB devices to grab your precious data or injecting malware when you're not looking. So, if you must leave your computer unattended for a brief period of time (or if you're the type that gets so absorbed with work that you don't notice your surroundings), this is a nifty device to help you physically block points of entry into your laptop.

It's also good if you have a stupid brother that keeps bringing viruses from his stupid friends.
Can be bought for only 14.99 Pounds.

Egyptians knew Internet Explorer would SUCK

Around 5000 years ago the ancient Egyptians established an extraordinary and enduring civilisation.
The original pyramids serve as a testament to the mathematical skill of the Egyptians, a skill that stimulated Greek mathematicians, including Pythagoras, to perfect their work. The Great Pyramid, built by Khufu (Cheops) in 2550 BC, for example, stands an impressive 46m (150ft) high, with a slope of 51degrees. Its sides, with an average length of 230m (754ft), vary by less than 5cm (2in). Higher than St Paul's Cathedral, the pyramid was aligned with amazing accuracy almost exactly to true north.
But the pyramids are more than mathematical puzzles. They hold the key to understanding the structure of Egyptian society. The pyramids were built, not by the gangs of slaves often portrayed by Hollywood film moguls, but by a workforce of up to 5,000 permanent employees, supplemented by as many as 20,000 temporary workers, who would work for three or four months on the pyramid site, before returning home.

The thing is something was just found in a pyramid: a writing that fascinated me. Egyptians knew Internet Explorer would suck.

Here's an image not found pyramid writing

What type of hosting do you prefer ?

Today I want to talk to you about hosting and which one is best for you.
Hosting is a service that allows you to put your website on the internet. After you have thought of a name for your website and registered the domain name, the next step is to find a web hosting service from a web hosting provider.

The war between Microsoft and Open Source goes on. You can have Windows hosting or linux web hosting.
You now have to choose.

I prefer linux because it's better, safer and more stable (and don't worry, linux isn't good just for servers ... it's good for your personal computers to). The only bad thing about linux hosting is that you will have to chmod the files if you plan on editing them through a web browser.
And that's not something that could make you change your mind.

I never used Windows hosting for 1 reason: I want my website to be up and I don't want to lose all my files because the server crashed.

You can also read more on hosting here.

Ubanana Water Resistant MP3 Player

There's certainly no shortage of waterproof gadgets out there for you to take along on your next swimming or diving adventure, but if you still haven't found an MP3 player that meets your needs, you may want to consider Ubanana's new uCan device, which is at least a tad better looking than some of the other wearable options currently available. You'll have to make do with a mere 1GB of memory, however, but you will get a decent 15 hours of battery life, and you can rest assured that it'll float to the surface for easy retrieval if it slips off while you're plundering the ocean's depths (up to ten feet deep, at least). Look for this one to set you back EUR99 (or $150), with it set to start shipping in July.

Urban Myths Exposed

According to Cracked.com these are five of the most repeated urban myths.
1. You accidentally swallow about eight spiders a year in your sleep
Why it's not true:
Spiders have a natural instinct to stay alive and crawling into the heavy-breathing hot, wet mouths of animals goes strongly against this.

Who started it:
Back in 1993 a columnist for PC Professional named Lisa Holst decided to prove that you could make up anything on the internet and people would believe it.

She did this by making up a set of facts that were utterly ridiculous, the spider myth among them (which itself was taken from a collection of insect folklore that dates back to the 1950s, and emailing her findings around the world.
2. You Only Use 10% of Your Brain (but if you were only less lazy or stupid you could use more)
Why it's not true:
The parts of the brain are specialized, so trying to use all of it at once isn't going to make you any smarter.

That would be like trying to become a better writer by striving to use all the keys on your keyboard in every sentence.

Who started it?
A series of neurologists over the past few hundred years figured out that a human can survive when parts of the brain are removed.

Over time, this was misinterpreted to mean that the brain uses little of its potential, and thus the 10 per cent statistic was born.
3. Men think about sex every seven seconds
Why is it a load of rubbish?
If men thought about sex every seven seconds it would be...

How about buying the car you want now ? Get a Car Loan

If you are a teenager in high school, or a college student like me, there are a number of barriers in the way to your entry into car ownership. When you are young and invincible, you have all these starry eyed dreams about the car you are going to get, then reality sets in and you realise that there is no way you could get all that cash as fast as you plan to drive the car.
I remembered about a Car Loan service which offers a reputable source of car financing for customers nationwide.
New Car Loans can help you buy new or used cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, or vans. And the best thing is that getting a car loan from Car Loans is fast and as always there are never any application fees when you apply online.
What are you waiting for ? Got buy that car you always wanted.

Recover your Ubuntu account password

Today I installed Ubuntu in a friends PC. He is not new into computers but he wanted some pointers first on using Ubuntu.
We went through all the install steps really quickly as he knows that sort of stuff.

Because his keyboard is a lot different than mine I made a mistake when entering the password. And guess what ?! I made the same mistake twice and so the installer continued.

After it finished installing I rebooted his computer, took out the bootable CD from the drive. Everything ok until I had to login.

Now the password didn't work at all. Luckaly on my home computer I experienced some hard disk problems and I had to enter Ubuntu's recovery mode. I saw that in recovery mode you are automaticly logged in as root.

So I went to recovery mode by rebooting my friends computer and pressing the Escape key as right before GRUB loaded.
As soon as everything finished I was in a shell logged in as root. Hooray.
All I had to do was to change the password for his user by typing:
password username
and entering a new password twice. I watched the keyboard while entering the new password. I rebooted the computer again and logged in succesfully.
Of course I could have always reinstalled Ubuntu from scratch ... but this was faster.
