The sensor wirelessly communicates with the other person’s pillow; when one person goes to bed, their lover’s pillow begins to glow softly to indicate their presence.

EDC stands for Every Day Carry – for desk jockeys that may mean a combination of USB drive, smartphone  and laser pointer, but even we computer-sitters sometimes need a slightly more rugged set of essentials like this little collection provides.

EDC Pocket Tool

The components are surprisingly small and simple to describe: “Tiny, multiuse tools. Comes with a pry bar, screwdriver keys, precision tweezers & waterproof lighter. All tools attach to your keychain and weigh less than 2 ounces combined. Made in USA.”

A return to well-crafted, high-quality design ideals using top-of-the-line stainless steel, elements of this set are employed by “U.S. Military, local police forces, firemen and serious survivalists” and made to last without regular maintenance.

Per the kit’s creators at Kaufmann Mercantile: “The idea is to keep it streamlined with an eye towards self-reliance — you want items that do the most while taking up as little pocket space as possible.” At just $42 total (coincidence, or are they Douglass Adams fans?) and available piecemeal as well on the cheap, this has certainly just made my Christmas list.

Condoms can significantly reduce the likelihood of you catching some nasty virus except this condom is designed for the digital kind. Computer viruses are just as virulent as the biological variety, just as insidious, and just as detrimental. The Condom USB is a device that acts as a stopgap between any USB enabled device and your computer.

As soon as the Condom USB detects a virus, built-in software shuts off USB access, verifies the problem, removes the nasty bug, then reopens the communication bridge to your computer. Snazzy but would this really work in the real world?

The way it works is that when the alarm starts ringing in the morning, the clock uses its two displays and two rotatable parts to create a math problem, for example 8+2=?. It won’t stop ringing until you give it the right answer. 5-4=2, as seen in the picture above, won’t work. Maker D-Forme says the main idea behind their clock is to force buyers to activate their brains in the morning.
