Pillow Talk is a project aiming to connect long distance lovers. Each person has a pillow for their bed and a ring sensor which they wear to sleep at night. The sensor wirelessly communicates with the other person’s pillow; when one person goes to bed, their lover’s pillow begins to glow softly to indicate their presence. Placing your head on the pillow allows you to hear the real-time heartbeat of your loved one. More info

Per the kit’s creators at Kaufmann Mercantile: “The idea is to keep it streamlined with an eye towards self-reliance — you want items that do the most while taking up as little pocket space as possible.” At just $42 total (coincidence, or are they Douglass Adams fans?) and available piecemeal as well on the cheap, this has certainly just made my Christmas list.

As soon as the Condom USB detects a virus, built-in software shuts off USB access, verifies the problem, removes the nasty bug, then reopens the communication bridge to your computer. Snazzy but would this really work in the real world?

It has 3 different shades of lights: green, red and yellow. You can pretty much guess which colors mean what. Red means you need to get your tail out of the shower, yellow means you should speed things up a bit (tell this to your wife ) and green means you’re in the clear. It sits right next to your drain and just keeps track of how much water goes down it.

It’s an interesting concept and maybe it can be helpful on letting too much water go down the drain.

Twist Alarm Clock

The way it works is that when the alarm starts ringing in the morning, the clock uses its two displays and two rotatable parts to create a math problem, for example 8+2=?. It won’t stop ringing until you give it the right answer. 5-4=2, as seen in the picture above, won’t work. Maker D-Forme says the main idea behind their clock is to force buyers to activate their brains in the morning.

Aqua Clocky

When you hit Clocky’s snooze button, he will roll off of the nightstand, fall to the floor, and run around the room, searching for a place to hide. When the alarm sounds again, you have to get out of bed to find it and turn it off. He finds a new spot everyday, “kind of like a hide-and-seek game”.

Sfera Alarm Clock

The Sfera alarm clock hangs from the ceiling above your bed. When the alarm goes off, you can reach up and touch it to activate the snooze function causing it retract towards the ceiling. When snooze goes off again, you have to reach higher to activate the snooze again. Each time you activate the snooze function the alarm retracts a little higher to the point that you get your butt out of bed.
