PostManage your schedule with qOrganizer on Ubuntu

qOrganizer is a general tool that provides organizing utilities such as a calendar, reminders, journal/notes, to-do list, etc. No doubt that it’s a very useful tool for students and professionals who have to manage their timetables and schedules. It bundles several small tools together into one package and you don’t need to install all of them separately.

To install qOrganizer open a terminal and run the following command:

sudo apt-get install qorganizer

I’m not sure why but the installer doesn’t create a shortcut for qOrganizer in the Applications menu. You can add one yourself just like I did:

Ubuntu Launcher Properties

or you can just run it by pressing ALT + F2 and entering /usr/bin/qorganizer.

And here’s qOrganizer:

Use it. You’ll love it.

  1. I like qOrganizer. However saving to a SQL database means nothing to me. Strangely I asked settings to save to a text file and pointed to my home/ documents page. But no qOrganizer file that I can see appears there, and I am not prompted to give the file a name. However, when I load qOrganizer again I default to the saved diary… I obviously don’t want to build up a lot of entries only to have them disappear because I don’t know how the file is saved.
Second how do I uninstall it? I like the programme but ideally I would like to password protect it because this is a shared computer. Tony

    1. sudo apt-get remove qorganizer
