PostMetal Perforation

metal-perforations Have you ever tried making your own computer case mod ? Well I wanna make one as well.

I plan on making the whole case out of metal. I was thinking of leaving just a few holes but then I would have heating problems. I really want the case to be made out of metal but making holes in it can really be a pain and time consuming. A friend told me about perforated stainless steel material, which is exactly what I need. I was reading through their website and I saw that they can do almost anything: hundreds of patterns including chain link, diamond, cloverleaf, hexagon, in variety of materials like aluminum, stainless steel, copper and even plastic.

All you have to do is to send them a sketch, they will copy it and turn it into a ready-to-perforate CAD drawing. This means you can send them any drawing, right ? Even a dragon or some other great design and they will cut the metal exactly as you want it. This gives me ideas for my computer case mod :D .

Oh, and if you’re considering using their perforating services too keep in mind that you will receive a finished component and not just a piece of metal that you will have to send out again to some other company.

Anyway, I’m off to the drawing board again looking for my talent and a great pattern to perforate in my future computer case.
