PostHusqvarna Lawnmower

Husqvarna Lawnmower

Swedish gardening and outdoor equipment producer Husqvarna launched a new robotic lawnmower, equipped with GSM technology that sends a text message (SMS) to the caretaker’s cell phone if it needs assistance. All by itself, the Automower 260 ACX cuts the grass, fertilizes the lawn with the cut offs from the grass and is also able to keep away moles, slugs and other lawn predators. With no harmful exhaust emissions and low energy consumption ( this bad boy gets an hour on a single charge – which should be plenty of time to take down about half an acre of lawn – and upon returning to its docking station, the battery is recharged in roughly forty minutes. ), the mower is gentle on the environment. Available video includes shots of the mower, Husqvarna facilities and soundbites.

Recommended retail price: €4,000 (that’s over $5,200). No word yet on a stateside release.
